AIJA’ Annual Tax Conference will be held in Bergen, Norway from 09 to 11 March 2023. The overall topic for this tax conference will be taxation in the private equity and venture capital industry. The main issues will be addressed through three different focal points exploring the fiscal pitfalls and opportunities for different actors and drivers in the industry:
- Key management and business angels,
- M&A transactions and venture investments, and
- Tax efficient investment structures.
Luís Castilho is one of the invited speakers in the panel ‘Is it mine or yours? – Tax risk allocation and management in M&A and venture transactions’, moderated by James Bromley (Farrer & Co). Fellow speakers are Pearse Walsh (Matheson LLP), Christian Carneborn (Marsh) and Stéphanie Ernould.
On the last day of the conference Catarina Belim will moderate the panel on ‘The curse of VAT exemptions – VAT and indirect taxes in private equity’ whose speakers are Lars Gläser (GLAESER LAW Tax Boutique), Jorge López López (Sánchez DeVanny Eseverri, S.C.), Andrew de Vries (Van Campen Liem) and Sara Soares (Abreu Advogados).
